Aug. 27th-31st Inspired, Scary, Orangey, & Crazy Kind of Week

Aug. 27th
So yesterday was the first day of school for Brady and it was a success for sure!
Today I'm feeling inspired to get to work in Corby's room before I have to go back to school! It probably would have made more sense to turn the guest room into the nursery but its on the other end of the house from our room, an odd shape and as little as we have guest stay over its always nice to have a room just in case and eventually it will be my craft area, already got the closest organized for it!
The play room also has a jack and jill bathroom with Brady so it made sense to me for the boys to be able to share a bathroom, so that way I only have one dirty bathroom to clean.
The upstairs was a disater after having kids over this last weekend, so I figured if I had to clean it and should go ahead and organize and clear out!
I shouldn't have taken a before picture but then you would have seen what a slob I can :).
What's nice is we have a middle room is right as you walk upstairs so I was able to stick all the toys there. It looks a little crowded but what do I expect with two kids and with one on the way, its just going to get worse!

I decided this pregnancy to sign up to do the Sequential Integrated Screening because two of our best friends lost their babies this last year. As no one can ever be prepared to lose a baby or have a baby with any kind of defect I thought it might help to be a little prepared.

There are two blood tests taken during pregnancy, one during first trimester and one during second trimester. My first trimester turned out just fine but this last test, I had some high and low levels which put me at high risk for somethings. So my doctor wanted me to go see a specialist to make sure everything was ok with Corby and I. As you can imagine I was a little  LOT freaked out and worried this last week waiting for this appt. It was one of the longest weeks of my life.

As far as the can tell Corby looks just fine, Praise Jesus! It doesn't explain my high hCG levels, so they are going to continue to keep an eye on both of us. I will go back to see t he specialist in a month and see my regular doctor on the 12th.

I am going to trust the doctors and this perfect sono and more importantly God! I am certain that this baby is a miracle and God will see us through anything! I considered myself blessed either way!

Orange Part 1...
Corby is 21 wks today and  the size of a carrot! And the chalkboard got a makeover!

Aug. 31st
Some More Orange...
I told you that on Tuesday I was feeling inspired to work in Corby's room, so today I went to Hobby Lobby to check out their fabric. I had seen a couple different fabrics I liked online but couldn't pull the plug on them, I really am a visual person and need to see things right in front of me to make a decision like this. To my surprise some of the fabric I had seen online they had. I'm super excited about the colors, I mean, how fun are orange, turquoise, and grey together! And don't worry I found some burlap too, you know I love me some burlap.
I actually found the burlap board at TJ maxx, I bought it not having anything or any place in mind for it, but now I 'm thinking with a little painting makeover, Corby's room with be the perfect spot and how cute are those frames?

This is one of the fabrics I saw online so when I got home I ordered it too!

And how perfect, burlap to match perfectly!
While at Hobby Lobby I told the kids they could get some kind of craft to do today. I thought it was a perfect craft day, sinice its so hot outside and Ryan is gone hunting! They both picked Marvel Heroes color blocks!

Aug. 26th First Day of First Grade

Man, I know I've said it before but I seriously can't believe my little boy is starting 1st grade today!
He was so excited but as we were walking in, he did finally admit he was a little nervous, sweet boy!
I pretty sure he was more excited about his new backpack then anything, and oh is new lime green tennis shoes that I didn't let him wear today with his polo and khaki shorts, silly mama thought he needed to be dressed up a little today. If it were up to him he'd be in his basketball shorts and t-shirt. I'm sure me decided what he wears the first day are coming to an end soon! This silly mama was also planning ahead, I wanted to make sure whatever we wore today he would still be able to wear the last day of school for our picture, so we bought a little big.
Funny he didn't make such a big deal about me taking pictures like last year, I know that will change too. He also didn't kiss me, although he did let me kiss him at least!
Praying for you Brady, that your light will shine bright for Jesus, that you will be a leader and surround yourselves with Christian friends, that will help you make good choices! That you will also be a great student who is eager to learn and follows the rules! That you will have a heart for others and show God's love to everyone and befriend those that may be different than you!
You are a precious smart little boy who I know is only to be so successful! We are so proud of you! We love you buddy boy!

Btw, he is wearing his other new shoes, Sperry Top-Sider Tennis Shoes which are super cute and still meet this mama's approval of not ruining a cute outfit and the approval of being a tennis shoe for pe. I got these and his lime green Asics for only $75 at Famous Footwear b/c of Bogo and 20% off coupon, yay for me!

Charley wanted to join and was super excited she had pockets too, this girl loves her some pockets!
 My favorite picture!

 Seriously how cute!

I promised him it was my last picture!

First Day Was A Success!
Brady had his first homework assignment  tonight, he was given a brown paper bag and he had to put his name on it and decorate it with things that represent him and inside he was to put 3-5 objects that he could share with the class. So, he wrote his name and drew a Texas Rangers T, a ball and bat, football, soccer ball, pizza, grapes, banana, and oranges. I have to admit I'm one of those moms that has to fight myself not to help him or do it myself, but I held back! Poor guy takes after me when it comes to being a perfectionist, he gets super upset when he messes up or things don't look the way he liked it should and wants to start over.
The inside he put his Texas Rangers baseball bracelet, a little football helmet, his God is Bigger bracelet to represent his faith, a pic of his family from a vaca this summer, and an orange crayon b/ his favorite color is orange.
After school I had promised to treat him to ice cream or a snow cone but Charley fell asleep on the way to pick him up and slept until 5, so we decided to make it a Braum's night and have shakes with dinner! Believe it or not this was the first time the kids had tried dipping their fries in a shake, I little like I've deprived them a little, lol.

Charley had to dip too!

Preparing for the First Day
I love making his lunches and I wanted to make his first day lunch extra special, so last night I made his lunch. I cut out the number 1 in his sandwich and made his watermelon and carrots into the shape of a one. I wanted to surprise him but after realizing it would probably mess up by the time he ate it, I showed it to him, he smiled from ear to ear which made this mama H-A-P-P-Y!

I also found some first grade books to read to him so after his shower, we read First Grade Jitters, Here Comes First Grade, and The Night Before First Grade!

Aug. 23rd Brady's Meet the Teacher

Teacher's classes were posted outside of school at 4pm today and then at 4:30 we were allowed in to meet the teacher.
Brady is Mrs. Christian's class, she is a returning teacher and several of our friends older siblings have had her and have had nothing but nice things to say about her, so we're excited! He is also in class with 3 boys from his class last year who all just happen to go to church with us, what an answered prayer for this mama! I've been praying God would provide him with a wonderful Christian teacher (not sure about this part yet) that would be stern enough yet loving and surround him with Christian friends!
Mrs. Christian is also pregnant due just a few weeks before me, so as I continue to pray for her and Brady I will also be praying that the perfect sub will be replacing her while she's gone.
